Suddenly…No Sun
by C C Keaton
What if suddenly there was no more sun
All the light pouring out of this world…
Until there was none
Darkness’ reign’s begun
Chaos followed by confusion
With no where to run
Some might grab a gun
Others hide in seclusion
Perhaps escape to delusion
Whatever one’s solution
(Draw your own conclusions)
Wouldn’t be much fun
Without sun’s illumination
Relying on heat from fusion
Imagine the pollution!
Not to mention the devolution
Life in consequential revolution
What if suddenly there was no more sun?
Would birds stop singing in unison?
Would we survive this new constitution?
Or just despair in institutions
What if suddenly there was no more sun?
None of us would ever be the same, no, not one!
There’s really just no substitution
The life the sun gives is proven
To be the exact contribution
Rising each day in loyal execution
Its rays a welcome intrusion
Light and warmth in celestial dominion
So, what if suddenly there was no more sun?
Well, let’s just hope we won’t see that day come!
”For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.“
Psalms 84:11 NLT
