It says so much more than hello
It says I see you and value you above
Shalom, like love,
Perfect peace and beyond
Shalom, a mystery of wholeness
That regardless of hurt presses on
And passes on only the best wishes
Toward all others everywhere
Shalom! A gesture beyond compare
To restore and repair for all who see
This gift from the sea is a message to you and to me
It’s best to give than receive
For you cannot purchase this treasure to keep
It’s power, just too deep
It only has worth if given away
For we only get Shalom in this display: giving thanks, forgiveness
or just to say to anyone that they matter today and every day
And in this way, of Shalom, may we never walk alone!
Give one to say sorry, or I don’t appreciate you enough
Give one to a stranger coz life can be tough
Give to the one who taught you to see, give to some lonely someone anonymously
Give Shalom as an offering of peace
Give to one whose tears or fears won’t cease
Give Shalom, but not to boast
Give to ones who need it most
Give Shalom to those who heal and to those who feel void of care
Give to one whose interests you share or whose burden you bear or to one for whom you never did care
Give Shalom to anyone from anywhere
And in this way, of Shalom, may we never walk alone!
