Why We Need To Shine

At the beginning of everything
God spoke Light on to the scene
He then declared it good
Separating darkness, as only God could
Millennia upon millennia later
Light was reborn in Jesus, its Creator
God’s purpose was to, through Christ
Illuminate every human heart to glistening bright
Giving those who wish to see, sight
To those in despair, delight
For the most vulnerable, He fights
To whosoever desires to be made right
He offers, to all, an eternal invite
And with perfect love Jesus ignites
Our hearts to unimaginable heights
So that we can shine through others gloomy plights
Defeating hurts, pain, and darkest nights
So let’s let God’s radiance glow
Out to a world full of shadow and woe
So that the whole world will know
The love of Jesus when His Light is shone
Through us, until God’s Heavenly Throne
Establishes our new heavens and earth home
