I Wonder as I Wander…

I Wonder As I Wander… poetic musings by C C Keaton

I wonder as I wander

Down endless thoughts I ponder

And so…

I’d like to lend a thought to your ear

Perhaps self-preservation’s not why we’re here

Becoz we all have something to say

But our pride or fears get in the way

Science can discover and uncover all states of matter

but it can’t manufacture nor destroy even the most minuscule of that mysterious batter

Philosophy doesn’t answer why or what for, just brings us to question even more

Religious separations lead us to divisively tear one another apart

All in the name of God, but at the expense of our own hearts

I’d like to lend a thought to your ear

Will you listen and not just hear?

Perhaps, we’re not supposed to be center stage

Or enslaved in a powerful other’s cage

Or subject to uncontrollable rage

Perhaps, we’re not meant to live consumer lives

Being bought, traded or sold

Aimlessly chewing on each others souls

I wonder what it might look like if we put others before our own delights

Letting go of past hurts

Or needing to be first

Spending less time on me

And most of time’s precious commodity

On being better we

I have noticed in most cases to be

When I look after others

God takes extra good care of me

And the fruit of His goodness

Begins to grow in fullness

For our good and His glory!
