Fashioned to Follow
a rhyming reason
by C C Keaton
When we follow Jesus
Our journey to eternity begins
The road we now travel named sanctification
Is where us disciples get disciplined
On this mysterious path we’ll encounter obstacles, testing, temptation, tribulation
All designed for beautification
God is fashioning us to win!
Gently removing the rags the world left us in
Now the seeds of new life start to grow within
Producing good fruit that leaves no room for sin
Like joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness
Goodness, faithfulness and love without condition
He takes us back to the Garden!
We who have given our lives to follow Christ
Are now Heaven’s citizens!
King Jesus calls us to obey one law, Love God and all others with every part of our being
So, let us let Love rule our thoughts, words, feelings and every action
For the God Who both created and rules the universe
Also calls us “friend”!
Shalom! You are loved forever, without end!
Amen and Amen!
Jesus said,
“I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.””
Revelation 3:19-22 NLT
