A Tide Is Turning

A Tide Is Turning

a rhyming reason
by C C Keaton

What is this tide turning?
Can you feel gravity reversing?
Something just under the surface, stirring
Vision blurring
Common sense adjourning
Bad behavior affirming

Twisted virtue signaling
No truth discerning
Ill gotten earnings
Dark web surfing
Law and order spurning
Everyone so self-serving
Always teaching, never learning
Hearts are cold, cities burning
No care towards what it’s really concerning

Hate and violence recurring
Consciences waning
This is not entertaining
It’s just emotionally draining
Now my stomach’s churning
Yet, in my heart, a yearning
Let’s just stop all this horrific hurting!

Wait, could this tide be reversing?
Isn’t life worth preserving?
And not for marketing or purchasing
But because everyone is equal in God’s determining

Don’t we all want blessings not cursing?
Even though we’re not deserving
What I’ve noticed in all my observing
There’s only one power so sterling
To defeat all senseless hating

Love conquers all shaming, blaming, bullying, harmful naming
Only love defeats arrows flaming, illicit gaming, always complaining, lies reframing, crime elevating, innocence maiming, and constant tirading!

We must let love guide us towards reclaiming
The value of ALL others before our own prideful demonstrating
Leads to never ending divisive game playing!
Humility is the goal we should all be aiming

Because love puts others before its own gaining
It’s in quiet, peaceful prayers and waiting
We’ll find the resolution our souls wish attaining
The choice is ours for the taking
So let’s choose to love everyone, friend and enemy, creating
An atmosphere so amazing
Shining brighter than the sun blazing!

Shalom! You are loved and in that love there’s no room for hating!

“the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.” From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬
