A Place At The Table

We have all been granted
A place at the Table
An open invitation
To the grandest of occasions
Welcoming the willing not the able…
Every Thanksgiving I’m reminded
How God has mysteriously presided
Over our lives at once I decided
To stop being double minded
And trust in Jesus, Jehovah Jireh!
God is solely the perfect provider!
I used to believe lies that I didn’t belong
I wasn’t good enough, always getting things wrong
But in my weakness God is strong
Encouraging in me a beautiful new song
Placing me in the eternal family my heart has longed
So this Thanksgiving I’m truly blessed
My cup runs over, I’m joy possessed
For Jesus has taken our broken mess,
All the stress, reasons depressed
And gave us faith, hope and love redressed
I’m especially grateful for our family of friends
Who love God and each other without ends
They faithfully encourage, mend, and generously over extend
To make us feel our place is always with them
Just the way Jesus intends!
So I’ll leave you with this parting gift
If you don’t yet know your place at this Divine Table exists
If, perhaps, you’ve gone adrift
With family or friends, a rift?
My prayer is that God would lift
You high above the world’s sick
Give you a Heavenly perspective shift
And fill you with all the love you’ve ever missed!
Shalom! You are loved and there’s a place here at the Table, so come!
