Running To Becoming

Running, running…
Seems like we’re always running
Why? Where? And to what are we rushing?
A pounding rhythm drumming
Or to various whims succumbing
What’s the goal in all our fussing
Are we running this race of life to get ahead of others, shoving
Will we work through pain and suffering
Or choose to mask our troubles with numbing
Will we exercise wisdom or cunning
Just what are we becoming?
Will we keep on shunning, strutting, cussing, hunting, judging, crushing, cutting?
Why don’t we clothe ourselves as a bride stunning-
Beautifully dressed in love, joy, peace, patience, with forgiveness and kindness flowing
Let’s stop running away towards nothing
Run to God, into his ever faithful arms loving
And keep on running until Jesus dispels all doubt
For God’s love never runs out!
