So, our pastor gave us a wonderful reminder this past Sunday on the importance and power of LISTENING. I know that on my own personal journey, in order to love God and others better, I need to intentionally become a better listener, which does not come natural to me lol… but since it honors God and it honors people, I’m learning to listen more often, longer and with a caring, understanding intent. “Lord, help me listen better to You and all others in a way that honors You and benefits those you put in my life.”
The Lost Art Of Listening
by C C Keaton
There is an almost lost art
That’s near and dear to my heart
This discipline, if learned properly
Benefits in all areas, not just audibly

Get quiet…
…relax
…and just listen
This video is all about hearing
If you’re silent enough
You’ll hear the faint creaking of
Bamboo reeds
Swaying in majestic beauty
And like the sun’s rays glistening
There’s a deep peace in listening
We must take time throughout our day
To be still, block out the noise
and pray…
[Jesus speaking]
”Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” Then He added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more.””
Mark 4:23-24 NLT
I shot this video in a tiny, isolated and hidden, bamboo forest on a trail path in Fort Pierce, FL. Bamboo is actually quite fascinating…it’s not even a tree, its from the grass family; the tallest grass in the world in fact! Also, bamboo grows incredibly fast once it starts shooting up and gives off more oxygen than trees. Other interesting facts about this edible grass include its incredible strength (surviving Hiroshima!), powerful, anti fungal, antibacterial and medicinal properties, and it comes in other beautiful colors besides green. Every part of the bamboo is useful and its also used as a wonderful, extra cooling shade from the sun. And did you know this amazing plant is used to make a variety of products including houses? Bamboo provides jobs and homes for over 1 billion people around the world. And its natural beauty has been the inspiration to artists, nature lovers, and even rhyming philosophers like myself. “Thank you, Lord for creating the bamboo grass and may we be good stewards of this magnificent plant and of all Your good creation. Amen.”
Shalom loves!
