Follow, Unfollow

Teach us, Lord, to faithfully follow
The unforced rhythms of Spirit and Word
Teach us to walk against the herd
Fill us with your strength and bravado
Give us courage enough to unfollow
What might cause us to stumble
Order our steps, keep us humble
Your loving wisdom, the medicine we swallow
Lord, lift us out from pits of sorrow
Lift us to a higher place
Raise our faces with Your grace
Don’t leave us in despair to wallow
Teach us to stop trying and just follow
